Co-creation workshops in CIPTEC

The second collective intelligence approach that will be deployed in the frame of CIPTEC is the co-creation workshop. The co-creation workshop refers to the collaboration and the active involvement of users and other significant stakeholders in the design process of a product or service.

CIPTEC will apply this collective intelligence process by organizing 8 co-creation workshops in 4 European cities that will bring together a diverse mixture of participants (users and non-users of public transport, representatives of public transport authorities and operators, transport experts and other public transport stakeholders) in order to stimulate the generation of new innovative business concepts (services and products) with the aim to increase public transport’s attractiveness and market share.

The organisation of the co-creation workshops starts with the provision of the co-creation workshops’ conceptual framework as well as initial guidelines cornering the CIPTEC workshops (D3.1-M5) and continues with the development of the detailed co-creation workshops’ plans (D3.3-M12).

CIPTEC co-creation workshops will be realized in two iterations since the first round of workshops will take place between Month 12 (April 2016) and Month 14 (June 2016) and the second between Month 17 (September 2016) and Month 20 (December 2016).

In particular, 2 co-creation workshops will be organized in each of the following countries:

  • Germany (coordinated by partner traffiQ),
  • Netherlands (coordinated by partner MRDH),
  • Italy (coordinated by partner TIEMME),
  • Greece (coordinated by partner AUTh).

The above mentioned CIPTEC partners, except for the co-creation workshops, will also host a respective instance of the CIPTEC crowdsourcing platform in their countries. The two collective intelligence initiatives will be closely connected since the crowdsourcing platforms will provide valuable input to the co-creativity sessions, where the potential of the most promising ideas that will emerge from crowdsourcing will be further investigated.

Overall, the co-creation workshops constitute one of CIPTEC cornerstones as their outputs will offer substantial input and will be exploited in  WP4 “Advanced marketing research and consumer experimentation”, WP5 “Toolbox for Public Transport Innovation” and WP6 “Social innovation, toolbox validation and policy recommendations”.
